The 6th Annual 'Voices for Children' Gala A Success!
Thanks to all who attended, CASA for Children of Monmouth County raised more than ever before to go towards our mission to advocate for the best interests of abused and neglected foster children within the county.
The evening started off with cocktails and hor d'oeuvres at the beautiful Navesink Country Club. Guests had plenty of time to socialize and peek at the silent auction items before making their way into the main banquet hall. Once everyone took their seats, our Board President Tony Shay spoke about the CASA program and introduced Executive Director, Cindi Van Brunt, who presented stories about the amazing work our volunteers do and the impact it has had on 'our' children. Andy Peer then introduced his father, Judge Peer, who delivered a both moving and entertaining speech about his experiences as a foster parent and Judge in Family Law. Tony, Cindi, and Gala Chair, Dawn Kate, presented Judge Peer, our honoree, a lovely black & white photograph of a schooner in Sea Bright. After the speeches, the guests turned their attention to the screen for a short video about the CASA program and subsequently the "Sponsor a Child" live auction. We were overcome by our guests' generosity in sponsoring a child for a week, a month, and even for a full year! We never could have anticipated the amazing amount of support shown by our attendees.Afterwards, everyone took a short break for drinks and dancing before dinner. During dinner, guests bid on three wonderful live auction items (courtesy of Ritz Carlton, Southwest Airlines, Mr. Jim Bell Sr. of Abel HR Services, Dr. Torpey, and Dr. Herzog). After dinner, everyone continued dancing throughout the night with music by Brian Kirk & the Jirks.
Clearly, this event did not happen overnight. Our gala committee, under the guidance of Dawn Kate, worked tirelessly to create a successful event. Many of our supporters donated their time, funds, and energy to making this event possible.A big thank you to all of our attendees, trustees, sponsors, and supporters!
